Holiday traveling breed airport congestion. Unlike Summer, where there are 3-4 months to travel, holiday travel is confined to a month and half of airports so congested, you would think the airport itself is having a Black Friday Sale. Airlines and travel companies are taking note as well. Recently, Axios reported that while many airlines are adding flights to popular destinations, consumers are likely to find higher prices and limited availability. So, we put together a few tips for the holiday travelers that might help with the preparation:

1.      Expect more congestion at your destination. On average a third of the population will travel for the holidays. This year 52% of respondents in a recent survey said they plan on traveling during the months of November and December. That means it is way better to avoid large check-in luggage or travel bags, if possible. Being held up in check-in lines can be grueling during the holiday season. If you can fit everything into a carry-on luggage bag or travel duffle, that would save series time.

2.      Expect to spend more money. Per PWC, holiday travel spending is projected to increase up to 34% in 2023, compared to 2022. A shortage of rental cars and higher demand for hotels, on top of inflation, people can expect to pay increased prices across the board. If you are traveling by air, sending gifts separately from your travel essentials are the way to go. You can always check-in another gear bag and stuff with gifts, but we feel sending gifts via mail or shopping at the destination for gifts will save you more hassles at the airport.

3.      Expect shortages on travel goods and services. Due to demand, production materials and costs, as well as supply chain issues across the globe, there will be less travel bags and duffle bags available on the shelves. Luggage for example is showing out of stock on many shelves or showing scarce across retailers.

Lucky for you, Duffelbags.com is not having a shortage on their products.
